FAQ
Q: How much do the glass panels weigh?
A: The 32” x32” weight is 106 lbs. each and our 32” x 48”is 160 lbs. each.
Q: How do I maintain this product
A: Like other glass products, our glass can simply be cleaned with everyday glass cleaner or soapy water.
Q: Can this product be used inside my home?
A: yes, this product can be used as an interior glass floor panel.
Q: My outside deck has a living space below the location where want to install this product (heated and or air-conditioned interior space), does this product work for me?
A: No, you should be using our Series 1000 or 2000 SkyFloor® thermally broken skylight systems. These include insulated glass, thermally broken frames and are intended to be waterproofed to the building.
Q: Is the glass slippery?
A: Our SkyFloor® Modular Glass Deck Panels are tested to conform with ANSI A326.3 (The American National Standard) test method for measuring dynamic coefficient of friction (DCOF) of hard surface flooring materials. We recommend maintaining our products with a regular cleaning. Keeping the glass surface free of oil or other contaminants is important for maintaining the anti-slip characteristics of our glass.
Q: What is ceramic back paint and why is it important?
A: We paint the bottom layer at the perimeter edge on all four sides of each panel of glass with ceramic paint, this paint is then fused to the surface of the glass in the tempering process. This paint is only in the location of where the glass sits over the EPDM setting gasket of the frame. The visual appearance of our products is one of our highest priorities, this process leaves the perimeter border of the glass a crisp “black” finish when viewed through the glass panel.
Q: What is the best method of handling the glass panels:
A: Most glazing industry suction cups work for handling the glass panels, we offer Nemo Grabo® battery powered suction cups for sale on our website.

Q: I’m concerned about engineering and approval from the building department
A: Our SkyFloor® Modular Glass Deck System has taken the worries out of this by having our systems certified by the ICC (International Code Council). This product has been engineered to comply with the strictest ASTM and ANSI standards.
Q: What is an ICC-ESR Evaluation report? And why do I need it?
