Anti-Slip Surfaces

View Our Available Textures

At Glass Flooring Systems, we believe in setting the standard for excellence. That’s why our products undergo rigorous testing—because your safety and satisfaction are our top priorities. Whether you’re installing glass flooring or walkable skylights in a home or commercial space, it’s critical to carefully consider the safety of your walkable glass surface. We use only tested anti-slip glass floor textures and offer the largest selection of anti-slip surface options in the industry to meet both aesthetic and safety requirements.

We adhere to the ANSI A326.3 American National Standard Test Method for Measuring the Dynamic Coefficient of Friction (DCOF) of Hard Surface Flooring Materials testing protocol. A BOT-3000E tribometer is used to obtain the DCOF of all our anti-slip textures. The ANSI A326.3 standard for measuring the Dynamic Coefficient of Friction (DCOF) is the only accepted standard for measuring floor traction in the United States. In addition, the ANSI A326.3 provides clarification of appropriate use of flooring surfaces in wet or dry conditions.

The United States has transitioned from the SCOF method to the globally recognized DCOF method. There is no longer a standard for measuring the Static Coefficient of Friction (SCOF), rendering the ASTM C 1028 – SCOF standard unrecognized. Additionally, other European slip-resistant tests are no longer recognized or accepted in the U.S. as a National Standard for DCOF, such as:

UNE ENV 12633 (Pendulum), Classes 1, 2, and 3 (Rd>45)

DIN 51130 (Ramp), Classes R9 to R13

DIN 51097 (Barefoot), Classes A, B, and C

UL 410 – Slip Resistance of Floor Surface Materials

At Glass Flooring Systems, safety is never optional. While others may overlook DCOF testing, we adhere to the only nationally recognized standard—ANSI A326.3—to measure the Dynamic Coefficient of Friction. This ensures our products meet the highest safety and performance benchmarks in the industry.

Finish

Our framing systems feature a durable PPG Coraflon® painted finish that meets the rigorous AAMA 2605-05 standard, delivering long-lasting protection and exceptional color retention—even in the most demanding environments. Every frame is painted in-house at our state-of-the-art paint facility, ensuring consistent quality, precision, and finish control. Standard color options include a sleek black or clean white, chosen for their timeless appeal and design versatility. For projects that demand a custom look, we also offer precision color matching to meet your exact specifications.

Engineering

Engineering is essential to everything we do, and a large measure of the value we deliver, lies in our engineering prowess. We offer the following array of engineering services and support:

  • PDF, AutoCAD, and BIM format drawings
  • Sealed/stamped state-specific shop drawings
  • Glass-specific engineering reports
  • Glass and frame engineering reports
  • Computerized finite engineering analysis

Safety Standards

At Glass Flooring Systems, safety isn’t a feature—it’s the foundation. Every walkable glass panel we build utilizes triple-tempered laminated glass, exceeding the rigorous standards of ASTM E2751. While others may settle for dual-layer glass, we never compromise. Our three-ply construction delivers unmatched strength, built-in redundancy, and superior post-breakage integrity. The result: walkable glass you can trust—engineered for confidence with every step.

When it comes to structural glass, cutting corners is not an option. At GFS, we build safety into every layer.
