Superior Glass Creates Superior Spaces

Our triple-laminated glass assembly is engineered for passive redundancy with panels that meet ASTM E2751 standard. Our panels are fabricated using three layers of low-iron, tempered glass with structural PVB, Saflex® DG, or SentryGlas® interlayers.

Anti-Slip Surfaces

View Our Available Textures

At Glass Flooring Systems, we believe in setting the standard for excellence. That’s why our products undergo rigorous testing—because your safety and satisfaction are our top priorities. Whether you’re installing glass flooring or walkable skylights in a home or commercial space, it’s critical to carefully consider the safety of your walkable glass surface. We use only tested anti-slip glass floor textures and offer the largest selection of anti-slip surface options in the industry to meet both aesthetic and safety requirements.

We adhere to the ANSI A326.3 American National Standard Test Method for Measuring the Dynamic Coefficient of Friction (DCOF) of Hard Surface Flooring Materials testing protocol. A BOT-3000E tribometer is used to obtain the DCOF of all our anti-slip textures. The ANSI A326.3 standard for measuring the Dynamic Coefficient of Friction (DCOF) is the only accepted standard for measuring floor traction in the United States. In addition, the ANSI A326.3 provides clarification of appropriate use of flooring surfaces in wet or dry conditions.

The United States has transitioned from the SCOF method to the globally recognized DCOF method. There is no longer a standard for measuring the Static Coefficient of Friction (SCOF), rendering the ASTM C 1028 – SCOF standard unrecognized. Additionally, other European slip-resistant tests are no longer recognized or accepted in the U.S. as a National Standard for DCOF, such as:

UNE ENV 12633 (Pendulum), Classes 1, 2, and 3 (Rd>45)

DIN 51130 (Ramp), Classes R9 to R13

DIN 51097 (Barefoot), Classes A, B, and C

UL 410 – Slip Resistance of Floor Surface Materials

At Glass Flooring Systems, safety is never optional. While others may overlook DCOF testing, we adhere to the only nationally recognized standard—ANSI A326.3—to measure the Dynamic Coefficient of Friction. This ensures our products meet the highest safety and performance benchmarks in the industry.

Superior Waterproofing & Seamless Integration

SkyFloor® walkable skylights are engineered for exceptional waterproofing and architectural adaptability. Designed with versatility in mind, every unit integrates smoothly with modern roofing systems—whether your project calls for liquid-applied membranes or rolled rubber roofing, SkyFloor® is built to accommodate your preferred method of waterproofing.

Each skylight is made to order, allowing for precision manufacturing tailored to your specific project needs. To ensure a watertight installation, we offer custom factory-applied flashing details that align seamlessly with your chosen roofing material and site conditions. This eliminates guesswork on-site and minimizes potential points of failure.

Whether you’re designing a rooftop terrace, balcony, or pool deck, SkyFloor® delivers walkable daylighting with the confidence of durability, leak prevention, and structural integrity.

The SkyFloor® walkable skylight system offers superior waterproofing performance compared to traditional walkable skylights on the market. Here’s a breakdown of what sets SkyFloor® apart:

1. Integrated Monolithic Frame Design

  • SkyFloor®: Utilizes a single-piece, thermally broken aluminum frame that minimizes joints and eliminates weak points where water can infiltrate.
  • Competitors: Often rely on multi-part frames with field-assembled corners or pressure caps that are more vulnerable to leaks over time.

2. Redundant Drainage Channels

  • SkyFloor®: Features a built-in multi-layered drainage system that captures and redirects any incidental moisture away from the structure. Includes:
    • Perimeter gutters
    • Internal weep systems
    • Optional sloped sub-pans
  • Competitors: Many lack redundant drainage or only rely on a single gasket or sealant bead, which degrades over time.

3. Factory-Applied Waterproofing and Pre-Glazing

  • SkyFloor®: Glazing is sealed and bonded in a controlled environment, ensuring consistent quality. All critical seals are pressure-tested before delivery.
  • Competitors: Often rely on field-assembled glazing, increasing the risk of error and uneven sealant application.

4. Structural Load Isolation

  • SkyFloor®: Isolates glass dead load and live load from waterproofing components, so movement or foot traffic does not compromise seals.
  • Competitors: In many systems, walking loads are transferred through gaskets and perimeter seals, leading to fatigue and failure over time.

5. Seamless Integration with Roofing and Decking

  • SkyFloor®: Designed to tie directly into roofing membranes, deck waterproofing systems, and even pedestal paver systems—ensuring a continuous waterproof envelope.
  • Competitors: Typically require custom on-site flashing, which is error-prone and hard to maintain.

6. Maintenance-Free Waterproofing

  • SkyFloor®: Built to require minimal maintenance with no exposed sealant beads or gaskets that degrade under UV exposure.
  • Competitors: Many require frequent resealing or inspection due to exposed components.

Safety Standards

At Glass Flooring Systems, safety isn’t a feature—it’s the foundation. Every walkable glass panel we build utilizes triple-tempered laminated glass, exceeding the rigorous standards of ASTM E2751. While others may settle for dual-layer glass, we never compromise. Our three-ply construction delivers unmatched strength, built-in redundancy, and superior post-breakage integrity. The result: walkable glass you can trust—engineered for confidence with every step.

When it comes to structural glass, cutting corners is not an option. At GFS, we build safety into every layer.
